The purpose of KOC-TOP- The competence centre for factories of the future is to respond to the need for partner companies to introduce the competencies of the future which are needed in the age of the 4th Industrial Revolution and Society 5.0 as the boundary between the physical and digital worlds disappears.
Project description:
The main objective of the project is to achieve the higher skills of personnel, their motivation for lifelong learning and the introduction of business improvements to increase the competitiveness of companies. We set the project and its goals based on the proven competency needs of partner companies for the factories of the future.
The common challenge of all involved companies is employee competencies development for Industry 4.0 solutions; especially on digitalization, automatization, robotics, lean manufacturing and artificial intelligence, which will be integrated into joint and external training, and to new “factory of the future” specialisation programme. Therefore, the project will encourage companies to become more involved in value chains.
Trainings in automation, artificial intelligence and lean manufacturing are of very important to the S4 Circular Economy. This will help companies to acquire the skills to implement circular economy technologies in the use of secondary raw materials and waste, and sustainable development competencies to enhance environmental and social responsibility.
The partnership is built around SRIP ToP, which in the Action Plan aims to improve employee competencies to optimally contribute to business improvement. Key competencies were further processed in the KoC ToP Competence Model and during the preparation of this project. The field of factories of the future is very broad, so there are also several other strategically important companies involved in the partnership, particularly in the fields of toolmaking, manufacturing and management processes. We invite also one of our disability and social companies in the project.
TECOS's role:
The main role of TECOS within the project is to actively inform and raise awareness of companies, employees and key stakeholders of the factories of the future, as well as the general public about the importance of personnel training and lifelong learning, which will significantly contribute to the transition of Slovene society to Society 5.0 based on educated and competent individuals motivated to learn.
