NEUMANN project with demonstration of the propulsion, power and thermal systems of a next generation air combat system

TECOS Slovenian Tool and Die Development Centre is a part of the NEUMANN project. Project parners met in April at the National Institute for Aeronautics and Space Research “Elie Carafoli” (INCAS ), which hosted the third General Assembly of the project and the fifth PMT meeting on 18 April 2024 in Bucharest!

The #NEUMANN (Novel Energy and propUlsion systeMs for Air dominance) project, co-funded by the European Defence Fund (EDF) and coordinated by Avio Aero, is studying energy aircraft domains, with a focus on energy-efficient propulsion, electrical and thermal systems and management.c

At the #NEUMANN General Assembly, the project team presented results generated in the first one-third of the project to the full consortium and to representatives from the Italian, Swedish and Romanian governmental agencies.

The results encompassed jointly agreed requirements for the propulsion, power and thermal systems of a next generation air combat system and the requirements for efficiently developing such systems collaboratively between European partners across intra-European borders. The first simulation models of the targeted technologies and the aircraft level integration platforms are now running and the requirements for experimental verification of sub-systems are defined.
