Bioeconomy Ventures promotes solutions in the field of bioplastics with a tender

BioeconomyVentures is looking for SMEs, including start-ups and spin-offs from the EU, who want to access BioeconomyVentures services using cutting-edge solutions in the fields of bioeconomy. The project aims to develop an interconnected European network in the biomass-based industry by initiating strategic cooperation between innovators and corporations to facilitate and facilitate access to investors and finance for the benefit of sustainable development.

Are you an innovator focused on the chemical sector?  Open call #2 – Future of Chemicals – is now open!

The programme is running its first open call and is looking for around 65 European Innovators, involving start-ups, scale-ups, spinoffs and SMEs developing solutions in the vast bioeconomy chemical sector domain. The Future of Chemicals programme aims to support the innovators by enabling them to showcase their developments, access funding and networking opportunities that could take them to market.

BV is looking for ambitious teams to address the corporate challenges with their innovative solutions, identified by corporates based on the following verticals:

  • Platform and Specialty Bio-based Chemicals
  • Bio-based Plastics and Materials
  • Bio-based Paints & Industrial Coatings
  • Bio-based Fragrances, Cosmetics and Personal & Home Care

The first of three open calls for innovators is aimed at more than 65 promising innovators from the EU with the aim of accelerating the development of their business ideas and offering support in overcoming the obstacles they face (finances, business skills and networking).



The dynamic program is focused on providing unique, tailored learning and development pathways based on needs assessment. The program accepts innovators from the laboratory, pilot, demonstration and commercial stages. The advantages of the program for innovators are:

  • hybrid business and investment readiness support;
  • networking opportunities and presentation events;
  • networking with investors and companies;
  • the opportunity to solve the innovation challenges posed by leading corporations;
  • visibility and exposure through the BV Ambassador network;
  • the possibility of concluding long-term partnerships.



The company must be based in one of the EU member states or an H2020 associated country, be an SME, start-up or spin-off company. The company must apply to the BioeconomyVentures platform and create its innovator profile and must address one of the key innovation challenges.
