Green Transition and good practice examples at the RISE I3 project meeting in León

The partners of the European RISE I3 project, including TECOS Slovenian Tool and Die Development Centre, focused on the next steps for the implementation of a green transition based on innovation and industrial transformation of European regions at the fourth RISE I3 project meeting in León, Spain. We learned about interesting examples of good practice and by the end of May, the partner consortia that emerged from the open calls will be formed.

In planning and designing future activities and thinking creatively about the events planned, partners have focused on cooperation and networking. The discussion on policy-making for a more sustainable future was followed by a visit to a good practice case study – TECOI in Sabero, an example of a successfully restructured company through the use of advanced technologies and the involvement of young talents.

The RISE project partners are planning to form project consortia that have emerged during the project through open calls by the end of May. Additional development companies and SMEs from less developed regions (e.g. Slovenia) will be included in the next phase as appropriate. All participants will receive free support in preparation of project proposals for I3 funding or other relevant calls.

The workshop on integrating good practices in policy-making for the implementation of sustainability models and green transition principles highlighted in particular the challenges of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), interregional cooperation and value chain building. The lessons learnt will also feed into a policy paper on strengthening the innovation environment in the regions.

Keep an eye on the RISE and TECOS websites and social networks, where we will regularly announce the latest content and the next opportunities to get involved.
