Additive Manufacturing in a Nutshell – A Crash Course for Decision Makers

Additive Manufacturing (AM) has huge potential for many industries and applications with its various technologies. However, in many cases, decision-makers still favour traditional production methods. Due to the continuous developments in AM, both in terms of the process (e.g. printing speed) and the materials used, it is increasingly important for companies and decision makers to be able to identify and exploit the potentials of additive manufacturing.

In the framework of the ADDCIRCLES project (Interreg Slovenia-Austria), of which the TECOS Slovenian Tool an Die Development Centre is a part of, a course has been developed especially for decision makers: Additive Manufacturing in a Nutshell – A Crash Course for Decision Makers.

The course is designed for:

  • Decision makers
  • Senior researchers with more than 15 years of experience
  • Senior managers with a technical background and
  • production managers.

The course will take place between 3 October 2024 and 7 February 2025 at various locations in the cross-border Carinthia region, Slovenia and Austria. It will be held in English and is free of charge!

The course will provide participants with information to help them decide whether to implement new additive manufacturing solutions in their company. They will learn about the basics of existing technologies, their advantages and disadvantages, as well as the costs of implementation and use through practical examples. The course will enable meetings with like-minded decision makers and networking among companies and academic institutions working on additive manufacturing at all levels, on both sides of the Slovenian-Austrian border.
