The AM Connect: International Conference on Research and Industrial Advances in Additive Manufacturing, held as part of a two-day programme, brings an exchange of knowledge and best practices in the field of additive manufacturing, a cross-border meeting of experts, and opportunities for networking between industry representatives and research institutions.
Join the AM Connect, the key cross-border event in additive manufacturing, taking place on 3 and 4 December 2025 at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (FH Kärnten) in Villach, Austria.
This two-day conference brings together leading industry representatives, researchers, and innovators from Austria and Slovenia who will explore the frontiers of additive manufacturing technologies. Participants will discover the latest trends, connect with experts, and co-create the future of manufacturing.
The conference is organised as part of the ADDCIRCLES project, co-funded by the INTERREG SI-AT programme, which promotes cross-border cooperation between Slovenia and Austria in the field of additive manufacturing.
Main Goals of AM Connect:
- Share knowledge and expertise in additive manufacturing across borders
- Create networking opportunities between industry and research institutions
- Strengthen Slovenia-Austria AM community
- Explore current developments and future trends in AM
- Highlight innovative AM projects and solutions
- Provide exhibition opportunities for industry stakeholders
Conference topics:
- Industrial-Scale Additive Manufacturing – From Prototyping to Production
- AM for High-Impact Applications
- Smart Additive Manufacturing – AI, Process Monitoring & Digital Twins
- Process Innovations in Additive Manufacturing
- Advanced Materials for Next-Generation Additive Manufacturing
- Performance & Performance Enhancement in Additive Manufacturing
- European and National AM Projects and Initiatives
The programme of the first day will focus primarily on topics intended for industry representatives, featuring presentations of practical use cases in additive manufacturing. The covered themes will include: overcoming scalability challenges in additive manufacturing, automation and robotics, quality assurance and certification, the use of additive manufacturing in the aerospace, automotive and medical industries, as well as artificial intelligence and digital twins for process optimization.
Participants will also be able to take part in an exhibition of innovative solutions and B2B meetings, and the day will conclude with an evening networking event.
Second day will focus on research and scientific contributions in the field of additive manufacturing, featuring presentations on advanced materials, process innovations and performance enhancement. The conference will conclude with a roundtable on strengthening research networks and a closing discussion.
