Dr. Vesna Žepič Bogataj, Head of Laboratory for Applicative Materials at TECOS Development Center and Coordinator of the LIFE CEPLAFIB Project, presented the newly developed materials based on recycled waste plastics and newsprint fibers, their properties and useful value in three strong industrial sectors: packaging, transportation and construction.
The central aim of the LIFE CEPLAFIB project is to transform the two material streams of municipal waste - plastic packaging and newsprint paper into new material components for cellulose-fiber reinforced composites, usable in high-tech manufacturing applications in automotive, packaging and construction industries.
