The project focuses on the development of <strong data-start=\"344\" data-end=\"400\">advanced technologies for industrial decarbonisation<\/strong>. Coordinated by the <strong data-start=\"421\" data-end=\"456\">National Institute of Chemistry<\/strong>, the consortium brings together <strong data-start=\"489\" data-end=\"509\">20 organisations<\/strong>, including <strong data-start=\"521\" data-end=\"574\">TECOS Slovenian Tool and Die Development Centre<\/strong>. Its primary objective is to accelerate the green transition by reducing carbon emissions from industries that are among the world&#8217;s major sources of CO\u2082 emissions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" data-start=\"741\" data-end=\"1044\">CarbNETs is developing innovative solutions to improve energy efficiency in <strong data-start=\"817\" data-end=\"848\">energy-intensive industries<\/strong>, such as the chemical and construction sectors, while supporting the transition towards a <strong data-start=\"939\" data-end=\"974\">low-carbon and circular economy<\/strong>. The project is structured around five interconnected research areas:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1046\" data-end=\"1377\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1afu4ts\" data-start=\"1046\" data-end=\"1083\">Novel <strong data-start=\"1054\" data-end=\"1082\">CO\u2082 capture technologies<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"n1cgjv\" data-start=\"1084\" data-end=\"1129\">Conversion of <strong data-start=\"1100\" data-end=\"1128\">CO\u2082 into green chemicals<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"11nfh6\" data-start=\"1130\" data-end=\"1165\">Advanced <strong data-start=\"1141\" data-end=\"1164\">bio-based materials<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"30qhz4\" data-start=\"1166\" data-end=\"1207\">Circular <strong data-start=\"1177\" data-end=\"1206\">heat and water management<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1trn4vi\" data-start=\"1208\" data-end=\"1377\">Horizontal <strong data-start=\"1221\" data-end=\"1257\">Techno-Economic Assessment (TEA)<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1262\" data-end=\"1293\">Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)<\/strong> to support circular economy integration and prepare technologies for market uptake.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These areas comprise <strong data-start=\"1400\" data-end=\"1455\">16 research and development projects (R&amp;D projects)<\/strong> in which the project partners are jointly developing advanced sustainable technologies. The consortium aims to deliver at least <strong data-start=\"1584\" data-end=\"1616\">37 new products and services<\/strong>, reaching <strong data-start=\"1627\" data-end=\"1665\">TRL 6<\/strong>, validated in industrially relevant environments and further advanced towards <strong data-start=\"1744\" data-end=\"1753\">TRL 9<\/strong>. Based on recycled and bio-based polymer matrices reinforced with natural fibres, the work package aims to develop functional biocomposites using secondary raw materials and renewable resources. These solutions will contribute to reducing the carbon footprint while supporting the implementation of circular economy principles, enabling more efficient, sustainable and cost-competitive manufacturing of next-generation industrial products.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2595\" data-end=\"3035\">The CarbNETs project represents an important opportunity to strengthen collaboration between <strong data-start=\"2688\" data-end=\"2727\">research organisations and industry<\/strong> in addressing one of the most significant challenges facing modern manufacturing \u2013 <strong data-start=\"2811\" data-end=\"2841\">industrial decarbonisation<\/strong>.
