On May 8th, Lisbon hosted the first in-person meeting of the European project STEAM COACH, an initiative aimed at promoting gender equality in STEAM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). One of the key objectives of the meeting was to accelerate the establishment of a mentor network that supports the professional growth of women in these fields. The event was also attended by representatives of the DRUMS \u2013 Deep Tech and Robotics for Human-Centered Manufacturing Systems project (Erasmus+), in which TECOS Slovenian Tool and Die Development Centre is a partner.<\/p>\r\n

The meeting highlighted the importance of capacity building for mentors and the development of a digital platform offering training tools for more inclusive workplaces. Women leaders in the STEAM sector also shared experiences and strategies to overcome structural barriers that still exist in technical and scientific fields.<\/p>\r\n

STEAM COACH and DRUMS share a common vision: technological innovation must go hand in hand with equity and worker well-being. While STEAM COACH focuses on closing the gender gap in technical professions, DRUMS advocates for the integration of deep technologies and robotics in Industry 5.0, emphasizing human-centered systems.<\/p>\r\n

Together, these projects demonstrate a strong commitment to shaping a more inclusive and sustainable future, where technology and equal opportunities go hand in hand.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
